DMCC is proud to announce the production of 13 episodes of a television series dedicated to drifting and the Canadian championship. This major announcement is the result of many years of sustained efforts and hard work in the organisation and production of international events as well as the development and promotion of the DMCC name and the sport of drifting. The goal of this one of a kind series is to allow spectators and people of all ages to experience this exciting sport by making them feel the sensations and thrills that drifting can bring! Hosted by Dany Bernier, a.k.a. Babu, this series dedicated to drifting promises to be refreshing and high in colour!
Broadcast starting October 2011, the 13 thirty-minute episodes will cover various subjects, both amusing and informative, such as:

• The history of drifting and its drivers
• Mechanical analysis and explanation of parts and drifting techniques
• Mechanics of drifting and judging criteria
• Portrait of 5 ‘’star’’ drivers and build-up of their profiles to be broadcast during race events
• Humorous clips on drifting and closed track stunts
• Best clips and shots of Canadian drifting
• Portrait of Chris Forsberg in the USA and a look at Pat Cyr and Dave Briggs,  Canadian driver participating in the Formula D final at Irwindale, California

The DMCC championship is the only drifting series in Canada. Comprising two divisions – East and West – the series brings the top drivers from all over the country and the United States. DMCC is starting its 7th  season as a professional racing series and certification authority in Canada. The series brings over 200 drivers, presents more than 10 events from Vancouver to Québec and draws over 80,000 spectators each season. Drift Mania’s mission is to promote drifting to fans of auto racing, extreme sports and hot cars, but also to an even larger customer base.     
In the most secure and safe environments, Drift Mania delivers the fans an incredible experience showcasing the country’s best drivers fighting for the title of Drift Mania champion. The Canadian Drift Mania championship is the fastest growing motorsport in Canada. Drifting brings together the fastest cars, highly qualified drivers and hard-core fans.

Specialty channel, TVA Sports, was launched on Monday, September 12th to the greatest satisfaction of sports fans.
Offering widely varied programming, tough opinions as well as a team of analysts and commentators close to their fans, the new network offers a wide variety of events that will please even the toughest fanatics!
Available on digital cable networks, the channel will be unscrambled until November 30th through Vidéotron, Shaw Direct and other local television service providers.

DMCC est fier de vous annoncer la réalisation d’une télésérie de 13 épisodes consacrée au drift et sur le championnat Canadien.  Cette excellente nouvelle est le résultat de plusieurs années d’efforts soutenues dans les réalisations d’évènements d’envergures internationaux ainsi que du développement de la marque DMCC et du sport du drift.  Elle a pour but de faire vivre une expérience hors du commun  aux spectateurs et gens de tous âges à connaitre ce formidable sport tout en leurs faisant ressentir les frissons que peut lui procurer le Drift !  Animé par Dany Bernier, Alias Babu, cette série sur ce sport motorisé seras à la fois rafraichissante et très colorée.

Le Championnat DMCC est le seul circuit de dérapage contrôlé au Canada. Composé de 2 divisions (Est et Ouest), il réuni les pilotes de tous les coins du pays et des États-Unis. Plus de 5000 fans du championnat  DMCC se sont présentés au Circuit ICAR pour la 7e et dernière manche de la saison 2011, le 25 septembre dernier. L’endroit était plein à craquer!

Rarely we have seen tandems as tight as during the final round!

 Exceptionally, the public could enter the site at 8:00 to watch the professionals make squealing tires and demonstrate cutting breath performance.

During breaks, the DMCC Championship allows people to walk around the pits, an opportunity that everyone benefits, as evidenced by this photo.

The audience felt shivers several times during the day.  The drivers were on fire and several have drifted close to the walls at breakneck speeds (over 100 km/h)!

Les spectateurs ont ressenti des frissons à maintes reprises durant la journée. Les pilotes étaient en feu et plusieurs ont dérapé tout près des murets à des vitesses folles (plus de 100 km/h)!

The especially high level of difficulty of the journey has brought joy to the crowd, like the spectacular duels that have engaged the drivers.

Le niveau de difficulté particulièrement élevé du trajet a fait le bonheur de la foule, tout comme les duels spectaculaires que se sont livrés les pilotes.

The number 33 Mike Pollard impressed in his beginnings in the DMCC Championship.  In this sequence, he had the upper hand on his opponent, so he reach the next round.  He finished the day in fourth position.

Professional and Pro-Am drivers, offered good performances, both during practices than during the official competition.

Exhibitors took advantage of the popularity of DMCC Championship all along the season to be seen by thousands of people and make some good deals.  Standard Suspension is one of the oldest partners of the series.

Les exposants ont profité de la popularité du championnat DMCC tout au long de la saison pour se faire voir auprès de milliers de personnes et faire quelques bonnes affaires. Standard Suspension est l’un des plus anciens partenaires de la série.

The suspense was at its peak when Marc Landreville and Pat Cyr awaited the verdict of the judges . They declared the Ontarian winner of this 7th round, the driver exploded of joy during the announcement of his triumph.

Over the weekend, the NC Drift Team slid into Penticton, B.C. for the fourth and final round of the 2011 DMCC West Championship. With blistering hot weather at Penticton Speedway, a track new to the NC Drift team, Jon and Louren spent Saturday’s practices dialing in on the conditions. Unlike past events, and similar to the style of Formula D, Round 4’s schedule saw the qualifying for Top 16 occur on Saturday, with the tandem battles occurring Sunday. With one of the biggest fields of the year attempting to qualify, both drivers knew not qualifying was definitely a possibility. Following a uncommonly large amount of very impressive runs by the majority of the field, Louren found himself qualifying 15th due a couple minor errors. Jon, after putting down a high and fast line on the bank, once again managed a 1st place qualifying run.

Sunday’s practice, with combination of the hot weather and the unpaved pits, quickly saw the cars and crews coated with a thick layer of dust. With Jon enjoying another ‘bye-run’ due to his 1st place qualification the day before, Louren was matched up against 2nd place qualifier Kurtis Goat. A valiant effort was put forth by Louren, but it was unfortunately not enough to best Kurtis, who had been consistently putting down amazing runs all event. Jon, on the other hand, after defeating JJ Mendonca and local driver Shawn Browne in the Top 4, found himself lined up against Steve Thompson for an intense battle for 1st and 2nd. Following a ‘one more time’ call and some light contact with the wall, Jon was eventually awarded the win.

The NC Drift Team has now podiumed at 11 of the 12 DMCC West events in the past three years, a stretch no one team comes even close to. The final standings for the 2011 DMCC West season find the NC Drift team 1st in overall earn points, with Louren finishing 4th and Jon 1st, repeating his 2009 finish. The 1st and 4th is a team career best for NC Drift, proof both drivers continue to improve. In closing the team would like to say a big thanks to fans, family, friends, crews and sponsors for making this year happen in a big way. Jon and Louren are already planning ahead for the 2012 season, hoping to even further improve on this year’s results.

September 4th and 5th 2011 , the DMCC Drift Canadian Championship was back at Autodrome St-Eustache for the seventh consecutive year.  For this sixth round, the long-awaited competition Canada versus the United States was on the program!

American professional driver Chris Forsberg was there as a guest judge.  Busy during the weekend, the star of Formula D has still taken time to sign autographs and pose for photographers, while refreshing with one or two NOS, the official drink of the DMCC Championship and the principal Sponsor of his car!

Nate Hamilton #144 (picture), from Rowlett, Texas, has honored his country by finished third.  The driver of American series XDC has to impress people there.  His compatriot Nick D’Alessio, of Philadelphia, has also well done by reaching the top 8.

Kevin Major’s burnout in half-time show has impressed many people with his red smoke!

The angle of the car when slippage is one of the key criteria evaluated by the judges.  Brushing against the wall in some places can also be profitable; Dany "Babu" Bernier proved to everyone he could take risks and at the same time he earned a place in the top 16 for the official competition.

As in all races, the team of NOS was there to give drinks to adults present, in exchange of a donation, for charity.

Monday, driver #21 Marc-André Claude caused the surprise of the day, since he grabbed the fourth position among professionals!  This photo was taken during his impressive duel with the American Nate Hamilton (#144) in consolation final.  Earlier in the day, the Quebecquer was on the top of the podium in the Pro-Am series.

Drift fans were treated to an exciting fight when Dominic Desrosiers (#69) was faced to Marc Landreville (#11).  The latter was declared the winner, but his opponent had nothing to be ashamed of its performance.

The adrenaline and excitement were part of this Labor Day’s weekend!

While meteorologists predicted a rainy weekend, nearly 2 000 fans attended practices on Sunday and there were more than 5 000 on Monday for the official competition.  Real fans!  Fortunately, the rain was only passing on rare occasions.

The caliber of the Pro-Am series is increasingly high, as evidenced by the proximity of these two competitors cars.

Drifting is a spectacular motorsport which requires, above all, exceptional driving skills.  Francis Tassé demonstrated an outstanding performance.  Quebecquer driver was proud of reaching the top 8 for the first time, and rightly so.

The XDC series drivers enjoyed their experience, both in the hospitality, the circuit, the energy of the crowd and the caliber of Canadian competitors. Is the confrontation Canada versus the United States will be repeated in 2012? To be continued…

Animation, contest, DJ, models and commercial booths embellished the weekend.  The exposure of many modified cars was appreciated by those present, there was  something for everyone!

As usual, there were many commercial booths on site.

The electrifying confrontation between Marc Landreville (#11) and Miroslav Ovcharik (#1) for the first step of the podium was to up to expectations.  Miro won his third win of the season, but not without difficulty.  One of the best duel of the summer.

Eric Warnet (#666) won the NOS trophy, given to the competitor who obtains the highest speed at the entrance of the first turn.

Dave Briggs (489 points) and Jeff Laflamme (481 points) are currently engaged in a tight battle for second place overall.  They can still catch up Miro (547.5 points), but they should expect a poor performance on his part in the finals 24 and 25 September at ICAR.  It’s an event not to be missed!

Over the past weekend the NC Drift team competed in Round 3 of the Drift Mania Canadian Championship West series at Race City in Calgary. 

With promising weather expected for the entire weekend, the crew enjoyed the sun as Jon and Louren started Saturday morning?s practice session on the high speed bank of Race City?s oval track. After a successful morning session and the Pro-Am competition, during the evening Pro practice, Louren noticed unusual noise coming from the rear differential. Shortly after limping the car back to the pits, Louren’s suspicions and fear of a blown differential were quickly confirmed after the crew discovered multiple cracks in the diff housing. Acting quickly the call for help was made throughout the pits and, thanks to JJ Mendonca, a spare diff was offered up for Louren?s use while the axles to match the newer diff were generously lent by Ryan Brown from his own Pro-Am car. Wrapping up the installation of these parts well after the evening practice ended, the team retired for some much needed rest.

The anticipated heat was already apparent early Sunday morning, with the high for the day reaching 30 degrees Celsius. Louren utilized the morning practice to relearn his new and much more aggressive 2-way LSD and new gear ratio, while Jon continued to lay down consistent, smoky runs. Nearing the end of practice Jon noticed a lack of power on Race City’s steep bank and realized that his car was down on boost. 
Desperately searching for the problem throughout the track break before qualifying, the crew finally located a loose connection on the wastegate.
With the bolt tightened up just while the rest of the field was getting in line, Jon raced up to the starting grid. With the boost issue fixed and a new set of tires, Jon threw the car into the bank as he had been doing all morning long with substantially less power. The ensuing run would qualify Jon in 1st place, leaving the crowd and judges on the edges of their seats.
Louren on the other hand, after mastering the new differential during practice, qualified solidly in 5th place – just one spot shy from having a ?bye-run? for the second time this year.

With the top four qualifiers enjoying a ?bye-run?, Louren was lined up against Andrew Moschuk in his Yokohama RX-7. After eventually defeating Andrew, Louren moved on to battle Devin Horsley in the top 8. After an intense battle and a ?one more time? call, Louren was declared the winner and moved onto Top 4. Meanwhile, Jon lined up against Travis Clark and after a somewhat unexpected ?one more time? 
call, Jon?s second lead run ended with a spin on the last hairpin corner of the track. Even with an incredibly close follow run afterwards, it was not enough to make up for his earlier mistake and Jon would finish the weekend in 5th place. Travis Clark moved on to battle Louren in the Top 4, where Travis unfortunately made heavy contact with the wall while Louren was following, moving Louren onto the Finals with Conroy Ganson. After another unexpected ?one more time? call by the judges, to the advantage of Conroy, Conroy would eventually defeat Louren, leaving Louren in 2nd place.

The end result of Round 3 finds Jon Schildwachter in 3rd and Louren Sansregret in 5th for overall point for the season. The NC Drift team is currently still leading the series in team points and are looking forward to the fast approaching 4th and final Round, Sept. 3rd and 4th in Penticton, with both drivers still having a shot at being crowned 2011 DMCC West Champion.
